Point of sale

A cashier screen that keeps up with the queue

PharmaEdge's point of sale is built for a busy Egyptian counter: scan a barcode, the right unit and price appear, stock updates itself, and the drawer balances at the end of the shift — even on days the internet doesn't cooperate.

What you can do at the counter

  • Scan and sell

A USB barcode scanner works straight away, including box, strip and shortcut codes; a phone camera can scan too.

  • Sell by box, strip or tablet

Each item can have several units with their own barcode and price; stock is always counted correctly underneath.

  • Price tiers and promotions

Give customer groups their own price tier, and run percentage, fixed or buy-X-get-Y promotions on an item, a category or everything, with optional dates.

  • Every way customers pay

Cash, card, InstaPay, mobile wallet, bank transfer or on account — plus gift cards, loyalty points and an insurance share on the same sale.

  • Shifts and drawers

Open and close shifts per drawer, record cash in and out, and see what each cashier should hand over; large discounts can require a manager PIN.

  • Salesperson-to-cashier queue

Optionally, staff on the floor build the order and send it to the cashier, who collects payment; the stock is held meanwhile.

  • Returns and refunds

Full or partial returns against the original invoice, with stock and accounts corrected automatically.

  • Receipts with your logo

80 mm thermal receipts in Arabic or English, with your pharmacy's name and logo.

Built for speed at a crowded counter

Keyboard shortcuts for every step, an instant search across names and codes, and a cart that shows batch, expiry, unit and discount on each line — so the queue keeps moving and mistakes are caught before the receipt prints.

Keeps selling when the internet drops

If the connection goes, the cashier keeps taking cash sales. When it's back, each sale uploads exactly once with its normal invoice number, and an offline sync report lists anything that needs a second look.

Good to know

  • Each sale takes one payment method (plus gift card, points or an insurance share); splitting one invoice between cash and card isn't supported yet.
  • Offline mode covers cash sales at the counter. Credit, delivery, loyalty, gift-card and insurance sales need a connection.

Common questions

Which barcode scanners work?

Any standard USB or Bluetooth scanner that types like a keyboard — no drivers or setup. On a phone or tablet you can also scan with the camera.

What happens to sales made offline?

They are kept safely on the device and uploaded once the connection returns, each exactly once. Anything that couldn't be applied as-is shows on the offline sync report for review.

Can I limit how much discount a cashier gives?

Yes. Set a maximum discount, and require a manager's PIN for anything above it.
